Home Sweet Home was born out of need and determination. After working at several women’s shelters, Betsy Reznicek realized that even when agencies were able to find a new home for a family, obtaining basic furnishings wasn’t easy.
Betsy decided to dream big and establish the first furniture bank in St. Louis. With the support of friends and family, she developed a board of directors, raised $8,000, acquired a used box truck and rented a warehouse to fill with donated furniture.
Home Sweet Home opened its doors in October 2015.
