Donation drives are a hands-on way for corporate teams, neighborhood blocks, faith groups, schools, and others to collect the household items local families need. Since Home Sweet Home relies on donations, community drives help provide many of our most-needed essentials.
WHAT TO COLLECT
Choose the household items you want to collect! You can host a drive focused on one of the options below, combine a couple, or just organize a general household item drive.
Kitchen Utensils
Help cook up change by collecting kitchen utensils! We accept new or gently-used items that are clean and in good working condition.
- Peeler
- Grater
- Potato Masher
- Measuring Cups
- Measuring Spoons
- Wooden Spoon
- Rubber Spatula
- Pancake Spatula
- Slotted Spoon
- Spaghetti Spoon
- Ladle
- Tongs
- Whisk
- Can Opener
- Ice Cream Scoop
- Meat Fork
- Steak Knives
Every utensil donated helps families whip up nutritious food and enjoy the simple comfort of sharing a meal together.
Bed Pillows
Give the gift of a good night’s sleep! We give away over 50 pillows each week, so we’re always in need of more. Pillows must be brand new and in their original packaging to meet health and safety standards.
Soft, cozy pillows help families sleep soundly, wake refreshed, and feel a little more comfortable in their home.
Linens
Wrap families in comfort with linen donations! We accept new or gently-used items that are free of stains, tears, or signs of wear. Twin and queen sheets, comforters, blankets, and bath linens are the most-needed!
- Dish Towels
- Kitchen Towels
- Oven Mitts
- Bath Towels
- Wash Towels
- Hand Towels
- Sheets
- Comforters
- Blankets
Every towel, sheet, or blanket you donate adds comfort, warmth, and care to a family’s daily life.
Small Kitchen Appliances
Help families cook meals with ease! Small kitchen appliances can be gently-used as long as they are clean and have all necessary parts.
- Blenders
- Microwaves
- Slow cookers
- Toasters
- Toaster ovens
- Coffee maker
- Electric kettles
- Air fryer
- Rice Cooker
Every appliance collected helps a family cook meals, save time, and settle into daily routines easier.
