In order to receive furniture from Home Sweet Home, you must be a client of one of our Partner Agencies. When a representative from one of those agencies identifies a need for furniture in one of their clients, they are able to fill out a referral for them to our program.
Do you have children?
Our partner agencies that might be able to assist you:
Big Brothers Big Sisters | If your child is actively matched in the Big Brothers Big Sisters program, you might be able to receive a referral to Home Sweet Home. To inquire about services or to enroll a child, visit https://www.bbbsemo.org/enroll-child/. Note: the enrollment process timeline / wait list can be quite dynamic based on a family’s zip code and the age / gender of the child.
Nurses for Newborns | If you are pregnant or have an infant child, call Nurses for Newborns at 314-544-3433 (press menu option 2 for intake.) If you are an active client with Nurses for Newborns, you may be able to receive a referral to Home Sweet Home.
St. Louis Crisis Nursery | If your family has kiddos under the age of 12, call the St. Louis Crisis Nursery at 314-533-6900.
Are you experiencing or have you experienced domestic violence?
Our partner agencies that might be able to assist you:
ALIVE | If you are specifically a victim of intimate partner violence, call the 24-hour crisis hotline at 314-993-2777. Before receiving a referral to Home Sweet Home, you must be a graduate of ALIVE’s program and established in your own residence.
The Women’s Safe House | If you or your family are victims of domestic or sexual violence, call the 24-hour crisis hotline at 314-772-4535. You will be encouraged to participate in the residential program and be established in your new residence before receiving a referral to Home Sweet Home.
Are you in recovery from a substance abuse disorder?
Our partner agency that might be able to assist you:
Queen of Peace | If you are a woman or at-risk youth in recovery from a substance abuse disorder, Queen of Peace provides family-centered care. Walk-in clinic hours are Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM at 325 North Newstead, St. Louis, MO 63108.
Have you been incarcerated and / or are you involved in the criminal justice system?
Our partner agency that might be able to assist you:
ArchCity Defenders | If you are an active ArchCity Defenders legal client and receiving social services, you can then receive a referral to Home Sweet Home. For more information on becoming a legal client, call 314-361-8834.
Are you experiencing or have you experienced sexual exploitation?
Our partner agency that might be able to assist you:
Healing Action | If you are a survivor of some form of commercial sexual exploitation OR sex trafficking, are over the age of 18, and live in the St. Louis area, call Healing Action’s referral line at 314-924-9459. Note: you must be actively involved in services with Healing Action and working consistently toward self-identified goals to receive a referral to Home Sweet Home.
Are you a veteran?
Our partner agency that might be able to assist you:
HEROES Care | If you are active duty military or are a veteran, you must first apply at www.heroescare.org. Once your application is approved by a granting committee, they can then make a referral to Home Sweet Home. Contact the case manager at HEROES Care at 636-375-0565.
